Recycling
For over 14 years, we have helped our customers adopt eco-friendly practices and achieve their ESG goals through simple initiatives that are easy to implement & maintain.
As your cleaning service providers, we will manage the collection & disposal of your office waste in the most environmentally-friendly way possible – ensuring that 0 waste is sent to landfill.
Below is a summary of our recycling & waste management processes:
1. Mixed Dry Recycling Streams – Mixed dry recycling is carried out at a MERF (mixed recycling plant) in Barking, Essex where the waste travels through a variety of machines designed to extract the maximum amount of recyclables and
segregate them into glass, cans, plastic, cardboard and paper. All recyclables are then baled for efficient storage and transportation to manufacturers, where they are repurposed into new products.
2. General Waste Streams – Non-recyclable waste material is transported to a waste incinerator (or waste to energy plant) in North London. The waste is burnt creating heat and energy and this energy fuels an electricity generating turbine that, in turn, supplies the National Grid — reducing the need for electricity production using fossil
fuels.
3. Food Waste Streams – Once we have collected your food waste, it is taken to a anaerobic digestion plant in South London where it is treated in an enclosed vessel. This takes food waste and recycles it as fertiliser for crop production, eliminating the need for expensive and environmentally un-friendly landfill. As the food breaks down, the temperature is carefully controlled to ensure that the finished product is completely sterile. The end product will be used for horticultural purposes on farms as a highly valuable addition to fertiliser.
